Ambergris Caye Christmas 2017
At Ambergris Caye Christmas once again brings back the time of cheer, gifts and love. As the sun settles down the floats begin to rise, having the parade begin within a few minutes of time. Exciting the end of year is, where celebration lingers.
Now there are so many floats with joyful faces and fun dancing getting others to join in this parading; this celebration never gets old although we do, what jokes! The parade leads to the central park. There the legendary lighting of the Christmas tree takes place on this Sunday, December 3rd. Whereas hundreds of islanders and folks from abroad, are brought together to the celebrate being filled with Christmas spirit. The two featured speakers of the ceremony. Mayor Daniel Guerrero and Honorable Manuel Heredia Jr. were accompanied by the beautiful Virginia Vasquez at the Central Park.

Miss San Pedro 2017-2018, Virginia Vasquez. She starts the occasion with welcoming everyone. This leads up to one of a kind presentations from various schools on the island. After presentations were over Mayor Daniel Guerrero thanks everyone for attending the occasion, he then quotes “ When we turn on the lights on this beautiful Christmas
tree, we will be sending the message of love, joy, and peace.” The countdown begins and the Christmas tree begins to lit up with such amazing illuminate colors all around it, leaving everyone astonished. Thereafter, Honorable Manuel Heredia Jr. expresses, “This is the time we should be together like a real family for the well-being of our beautiful island and our country Belize.”
As well as lady Dixie Bowen shares a few remarks and shares an the interesting history of the Christmas tree, which was sponsored by Bowen and Bowen for the past years and still counting . She had recalled visiting her daughter during Christmas, her husband, the late Barry Bowen was astonished with the Christmas decorations in Italy; that is where the idea to get a Christmas tree for San Pedro Came from. As the celebration was about to end the Pandemonium Steel Band from Belize City began to entertain everyone with tuneful Christmas songs accompanied with the fireworks show the lit the sky.
