Ambergris Caye elections have always been a thing from since the year 1974 and it still exists up to today. Here in Belize, elections are held every three years within the month of March and with Ambergris Caye Elections 2018every three years passing citizens from different parts of Belize: Corozal, Orangewalk, Belize City, Cayo, Stann Creek, Toledo and Ambergris Caye have citizens voting as early as the age of eighteen. In San Pedro at 5am UDP(Mayor Daniel Guerrero,Deputy Mayor Gary Grief, Hector Alamilla, Ruben Gonzalez, Gabriel Nuñez, Severo Guerrero Jr., Flora Ancona), PUP(leader Honorable John Briceno, Andre Perez, Ian Pou, Marina Kay, Ruben Navidad, Undina Graniel, Dianelie Aranda and Johnia Duarte) and VIP set up their tents in different areas with their people. Don’t think voters don’t have a setup; these citizens are lined up by their last names at the elections. The voting takes place at San Pedro High School. There the voting begins by eight in the morning.

Although elections are a bit exciting, the years of voting has change. Sadly, people part from each other because of elections ,friends and family become enemies during these elections. Who is the best party? and why the other party isn’t worth to be elected, there is a lot of conflict when it comes to these elections. Elections shouldn’t be very competitive, yes the council takes over to make a living better, but if it is to make things better why fight. Everyone has a right to vote, but Ambergris Caye Elections 2018lets not fight with each other because of it. This election honorable John Briceno stated that certain boxes weren’t tallied, therefore over 200 ballots could not be counted. Eamon Courtenay stated that there was approximately 21 days to present the case to the court, but after the results were published in the Government Gazette. PUP was determined to fight their case and get a fair trial at the Supreme Court for possibilities of having a new election to be done on the island.
